Young musicians in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program.

On November 16-18, 2023, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Equity Arc will co-present the Building Bridges Symposium: Connecting the Pathways in Atlanta, GA. The multi-day event focuses on equitable classical music training programs and aims to open up a national conversation on the success of pre-college pathways programs, the potential of orchestral training programs, and strategies to bridge these training opportunities across multiple musical journeys. Building on the Atlanta Symphony’s equitable training programs and Equity Arc’s national collectives, attendees will take away insights, ideas, and initiatives to create impact on equity, diversity, and inclusion across the nation. Symposium highlights will include insights from managers, faculty, students, and alumni of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program; a keynote address by pianist Michelle Cann; roundtable discussions on the future of pathways and orchestral fellowship programs; and a culminating performance by Talent Development Program alumni. Registration is $75 for Equity Arc members and $125 for non-members. Register here by November 3, 2023.
